We are a nation of football lovers and there is much anticipation for the UEFA European Football Championship 2024 this summer. Whilst many of us will be excited to witness the highs and lows of our team's journey, others may find themselves at increased risk of harm this football season.
Football does not cause domestic abuse, but studies have shown that incidents can increase or become more severe around key matches. Alcohol consumption during nationwide celebrations can also increase the likelihood of abusive behaviours.
If you are being frightened, hurt or controlled by a partner, ex-partner or family member, support is available, and you can speak to someone trained to provide you with emotional and practical support.
