Home energy saving support for residents

Contents

We have received some reports from residents that they are receiving scam calls offering home energy surveys and/or insulation. We will never cold call to offer energy support.

Introduction

We are committed to supporting residents to increase the energy efficiency of their homes and to reduce energy bills, all whilst reducing carbon emissions, through a process known as 'retrofit'.

The support available through our retrofit programme for the coming Winter 2024 to 2025 is set out below. The Greener Futures service is catalysing the installation of energy saving retrofit measures in both domestic and non-domestic buildings, which together make up 60% of 中国P站's emissions.

Warm Homes Local Grant

中国P站 has now launched our Warm Homes Local Grant. The scheme provides free insulation, heat pumps or solar panels to low-income homes at-risk of fuel poverty. Visit our guidance page to find out more, including how to apply.

Home Energy Advice Team (HEAT)

The Home Energy Advice Team (HEAT) service continues with plans to deliver in-person energy advice and thermal imaging surveys to thousands more households by the end of March 2025.

Over 900 households have benefited from the scheme as of September 2024, with a satisfaction rate of 4.9/ 5. The initiative has strengthened our collaboration with a range of community partners.

Sign up for a home visit from one of the HEAT surveyors today by filling out the form on the website.

Beware of scams

We have received some reports from residents that they are receiving calls offering home energy surveys and/or insulation.

The HEAT service will never cold call residents – they will only call to reply if you have left a message on the contact phone number, in response to you submitting one of the HEAT application forms, or if an Energy Champion is calling to confirm the time you requested for a visit. Neither HEAT's Energy Champions nor project coordinators will solicit money over the phone. If someone cold calls you, or tries to take money from you in-person or over the phone, it is not the Home Energy Advice Team. If in doubt, email energy@surreycc.gov.uk.

We are pleased to offer a free call blocker to prevent scam phone calls, for more information and to apply visit .

Home Energy Improvement One-Stop Shop (Furbnow)

The Home Energy Improvement One-Stop Shop service has now also launched. This scheme is a partnership with home energy improvement experts , and eligible households can access 60% off subsidised Whole-House Assessments and Home Energy Plans by requesting a no-obligation quote direct on .

Home Energy Improvement Guide

We have also now launched a new Home Energy Improvement Guide for residents. The guide allows residents to explore three common 中国P站 housing types and 'packages' of appropriate retrofit measures for each type, tailored to varying household budgets, motivations and circumstances.

The guide also provides the practical next steps residents can take to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. We hope this resource will raise awareness of retrofit and provide residents with confidence in their decision making on home energy improvements.
