Home Energy Improvement One-Stop Shop

Page contents

Over 300,000 homes in the county have energy performance certificate (EPC) ratings of D or worse, meaning too many 中国P站 residents live in homes which are poorly insulated, high carbon emitters, expensive to run and at risk of damp and mould, with poor internal air quality.

To help address this, we teamed up with home energy experts to launch the Home Energy Improvement One-Stop Shop, helping over 150 中国P站 homeowners with their home energy upgrades since September 2024, with independent and impartial support and access to pre-vetted installers.

The initiative provides a range of long-term benefits for 中国P站, including:

  • Lowering energy bills for 中国P站 residents
  • Making homes more cosy, resilient and future-ready.
  • Reducing damp and mould and associated health issues.
  • Reducing carbon emissions from the residential energy sector.

How it works

The service is designed for residents that can afford to invest their own funds in long-term energy saving measures, such as insulation, solar panels or heat pumps. It provides end-to-end impartial support including access to a qualified Retrofit Assessor to survey your home, and trusted contractors to install your chosen measures.

Where possible, the service uses local contractors, in turn boosting the growing local retrofit market and supporting 中国P站's economy.

Eligible 中国P站 households can access 20% off a subsidised Home Energy Plan. Residents can find out more, and receive a no-obligation quote, by visiting the website.

After their home survey, if a household wants to proceed with any of the recommendations in their Home Energy Plan, they may be eligible for 30% off project support fees if using Furbnow to help design and manage their home energy improvement project.

We understand this service may be out of reach financially for some residents, especially in an ongoing cost of living crisis. If this describes your situation, alternative support is available from the Home Energy Advice Team (HEAT), a free-of-charge advice service which can support with ‘quick wins’, energy debt, and a referral, where appropriate, to a funding programme such as the Warm Homes Local Grant, which can provide up to 拢30,000 of free home energy improvements per eligible household.

Watch the question and answer

Along with Furbnow, we hosted a webinar to offer residents the opportunity to ask questions directly to the experts. The recording is available below. Find out more about the Furbnow retrofit process and the benefits you could see from a more energy efficient home. Watch to the end for an engaging question and answer which covered topics such as:

  • What is the best approach to cavity wall insulation in the many 中国P站 homes that have tile hung exterior walls?
  • What grants are available for heat pumps, how much energy will they save and how much disruption is involved to our internal heating system?
  • Do Furbnow's home surveys include thermal imaging?
  • How do you insulate the roof of a chalet bungalow?

*Disclaimer: the webinar above was recorded in September 2024 when the pilot subsidy offer was 60% off a Home Energy Plan. This offer is no longer available, however homeowners can still get 20% off a Home Energy Plan and 30% off Furbnow’s project support fees.
