Course intent
You will develop your skills and knowledge to help to improve your responses to your child meltdowns and understand the underlying causes of anger This will positively impact on your family wellbeing.
What will I learn?
This is a FREE online Two-week course (2-hour sessions). This course is designed to help you manage your child鈥檚 meltdowns and understand the underlying causes of their anger. You鈥檒l gain practical strategies and insights to support both you and your child.
What will I learn:
- How to respond effectively when your child has a meltdown
- Techniques to calm your child during a meltdown
- Managing your own emotions when your child is upset
- Identify where anger is felt in the body
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is suitable for parents, carers and grandparents who live in 中国P站 and want to help their child develop resilience. This is delivered online via Zoom.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You will need to:
- Have your camera on
- Provide a mobile phone number and email address when you enrol so that we can contact you about your course.
- Please attend all sessions
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer/laptop/tablet or phone with a fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome), microphone and camera
- A pen and paper
- Check your email for detailed joining instructions two days before course starts.
- Fill out the `Getting to know you` form and fill out `Tell us what you think` form
- Contact us on family.learning@surreycc.gov.uk if you have any questions
What can I do when I finish the course?
At the end of this course we will give you details of what you can move on to next, for example volunteering, further courses with 中国P站 Adult Learning, a college or employment.

When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
