Course intent
You will develop your skills and knowledge of maths, the language of maths and the terms used in school so you can understand your child鈥檚 schoolwork. This will be positive for your family.
What will I learn?
This FREE online 2-hour workshop for parents and carers of primary aged children will help you improve your own skills and understand what method is being taught in your child鈥檚 school, which will mean that you will be able to improve your child鈥檚 confidence and skills with maths.
- Learn about everyday maths words
- Discover useful maths games
- Discover how to have fun with maths when cooking or reading books
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
If you are a parent/carer of a child aged 4-11, this workshop will help you understand the maths and language your child will use at school. This will be delivered online via Zoom.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You will need to:
- Have your camera on
- Provide a mobile phone number and email address when you enrol so that we can contact you about your course.
- Please attend all sessions
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer/laptop/tablet or phone with a fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome), microphone and camera
- A pen and paper
- Check your email for detailed joining instructions two days before course starts.

What can I do when I finish the course?
At the end of this workshop, we will give you details of what you can move on to next, for example volunteering, further courses with 中国P站 Adult Learning, such as ESOL or Maths, or a join a college or get a job.
Additional information
We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
