  • To use simple hand-building techniques, including using pinching, coiling and slabbing clay and how to attach different parts
  • To explore using coloured slip, textures and mark making with objects
  • To use your own ideas to create unique pieces of ceramics

    Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

    This course is suitable for beginners as well as learners who are already familiar with clay work. You will be provided with plenty of templates for different oil burners, but if you have a specific one in mind, take a photo or bring it in, so we can recreate a new version.

    What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

    You need to bring:

  • A notebook, if your wish;
  • small manmade or natural objects that you might want to use to make imprint into the clay with, (however, don't bring objects that are fragile or precious
  • An apron or old clothes as well as close-toed shoes
  • Packed lunch, and refreshments to eat during the lunch break. (There are plenty of shops to buy lunch from nearby.)

    What can I do when I finish the course?

    • You can enjoy using the creations you have made or give them to others as a present.

  • You can progress onto longer Pottery & Clay work courses or try out further ÖйúPÕ¾ Adult Learning workshops.
