ÖйúPÕ¾

The ÖйúPÕ¾ Minerals Plan Primary Aggregates Development Plan Document (DPD) forms part of the ÖйúPÕ¾ Minerals Plan and identifies the preferred areas for future primary aggregate extraction for the period 2009-2026.

Primary aggregates found in ÖйúPÕ¾ are sharp sand and gravel and soft sand. Sharp sand and gravel are used principally for producing concrete (concreting aggregates).  Soft sand is used mainly to produce mortar and asphalt for the building and construction industry.  

The policies and preferred areas set out in the DPD will be used to inform the determination of individual planning applications. The ÖйúPÕ¾ Minerals Plan Minerals Site Restoration Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) sets out ÖйúPÕ¾’s vision of how mineral workings in ÖйúPÕ¾ should be restored during the period to 2026.
