Summer Reading Challenge
Saturday 5 July to Saturday 13 September.
If you want to ensure your child continues their reading journey over the summer holidays then look no further than the Summer Reading Challenge.
The theme this year is ‘Story Garden – Adventures in Nature and the Great Outdoors’. This exciting new theme will inspire children to tap into a world of imagination through reading, exploring the magical connection between storytelling and nature.

Hide and seek treasure hunt
From Saturday 5 July to Saturday 13 September. This is a free, all day drop in activity, from 10am to 4pm.
The Story Gardeners are playing hide and seek in the library. Next time you are in the library, see if you can find them all.
Collect an activity sheet from the Help Desk and find them all to claim your free sticker!
Don't forget to sign up to the Summer Reading Challenge while you are in the library.
Get online week: Spotting and avoiding online scams
Tuesday 21 October, from 10.30am to 11.30am.
Join 中国P站 Libraries and the University of the Third Age (U3A) for a free event during Get Online Week. Find out how we can support you.
Everyone is welcome. Drop in and get online safely!
Arrive from 10am for coffee, chat and queries with our digital volunteers. Our Digital Welfare Officers will stick around after the session if you have any further questions.
Jane Austen: the woman and the writer
Friday 24 October, from 2pm to 3pm.
Jane was one of our greatest writers, transforming the novel as we know it. Celebrated for her sharp wit and vivid depictions of family life, hear about the literary powerhouse who lived and wrote locally.

Visible Mending workshop
Saturday 13 September, from 2pm to 4pm.
Learn practical hand sewing and mending techniques and how to apply them creatively to add your own creative flair to your wardrobe!

Crochet for beginners: make a pair of fingerless gloves
Saturday 1 November, from 2pm to 4pm.
A great, practical introduction to crochet that is easy and great for beginners. We will learn 2 basic crochet stitches and how to construct a pair of fingerless gloves using granny squares leftover from our Community Blanket Project.
Cost: 拢8.50 per person.

Lino Printing
Tuesday 11 November, from 1pm to 3.30pm .
Whether you are an experienced artist or just looking to try something new, this hands-on workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to dive into the world of printmaking! The ink can get messy, so please wear old clothes or bring an apron.
Cost: 拢8.50 per person.

October half term
Halloween treasure hunt
From From Saturday 25 October to Saturday 1 November. Just drop in between 10am and 4pm.
Pebble and her spooky friends are hiding in the library. Find all of them and decipher the code to get a free sticker!

Halloween lantern craft

Make a Halloween Lantern to decorate your home - battery tealight candle included!

Lego Club
We are extending Lego Club over Half Term!
Wednesday 29 October, from 10am to 4pm

No need to book, just drop in!
For children aged 5+ (Duplo is available for younger siblings). A note to parents/guardians: While your child creates in the LEGO room, you must stay on the library premises. Why not take this time to browse our books or enjoy a peaceful moment in the library?
Room on a broom story and craft event
Thursday 30 October, from 11am to 12 noon.
Join us at Haslemere Library for a special Story and Craft Time. We will read the beloved tale “Room on a Broom” by Julia Donaldson, then get crafty making your very own Yarn Broom to take home!
Perfect for children aged 3 to 8.
Cost: 拢1 per child No booking required. We will hand out tickets at the door on the day. First come, first served!
Coding with Scratch
Saturday 1 November, from 2pm to 3pm.
Join us for a fun children's Coding Session using Scratch! Get hands-on with Scratch, learn the basics of coding, and create your very own mini-game! No prior experience needed, just bring your imagination and a sense of adventure
Cost: 拢4 per child.
Perfect for beginners aged 7 to10.

Make a special cross-stitched Christmas card for your loved one this Christmas!

Nutcracker tree decoration craft

Make a selection of paper tree decorations inspired by The Nutcracker.

Angel or Christmas Tree book folding craft
Saturday 13 December. Drop-in: 10am to 4pm.
Get into the festive spirit at Haslemere Library and make anangelic, up-cycled folded book sculpture to decorate your home!
Choose between an Angel or an Christmas Tree.
This event is suitable for children aged 5+ and adults.
Cost: 拢3.50 per person. All materials provided.
Coffee and Company
Saturdays from 10am to 11.30am.
Coffee and Company will be will be back again from October!
Each session will feature a guest host from the community who will have a coffee and a chat with the group. Guest hosts will be added once confirmed.

Chatterbooks reading group
One Saturday a month from 11.10am until 11.50am. Please check with the branch for the next session date.

LEGO club
Every Wednesday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
This is the perfect way to get creative and build amazing things.
All our LEGO has been kindly donated or rehomed, making this a fun and eco-friendly way to play and learn.
For children aged 5 years and over.
Cost: 拢1 per child. Tickets will be available at the Help Desk on the day.

Stay and play baby and toddler group
Join us every Friday morning from 10am to 11am for a fun and relaxed baby and toddler group for ages 0 to 3.
What to Expect:
- A welcoming space for little ones to play, explore, and socialize.
- Free tea and coffee for parents and carers.
- A chance to connect with other families in the community.
This is a free, drop-in group, no need to book, just come along and enjoy some quality time with your little one! We cannot wait to see you and your tiny tots.
Sketch club
Second Friday of every month, from 2pm to 3pm.
Come for a relaxing afternoon of doodling, sketching, and creativity. Bring your favourite drawing materials and let your imagination take the lead. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just enjoy a good doodle, Sketch Club is the perfect place to connect with fellow creatives and share your passion.
No need to book or pay, just drop in, draw, and enjoy! Free tea and coffee provided.
