Special events
Discover the joy of cycling, adult training
Friday 17 October from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
Thinking about getting back on a bike or learning to ride for the first time? Join 中国P站’s friendly adult cycle training session, setting off from Chertsey Library.
Whether you're a complete beginner or just a bit rusty, this course is designed to help you build confidence and enjoy cycling safely. No bike? No problem! You can borrow a bike for free from Chertsey library.
The course costs 拢20 per trainee and can be booked online.
Half term activities
From Monday 20 October to Saturday 25 October.
- Diwali-themed colouring available all week: Free, drop in anytime
- Autumn wreath crafts available all week: drop in anytime. Suitable for ages 3+. Cost: 50p per child. All materials provided.
- Pebble Rhymetime: Tuesday 21 October, from 10.30am to 11am.
- Brio and trains: Thursday 23 October, all day.
- Pebble playtime: Friday 24 October, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
- Pebble Rhymetime: Saturday 25th October, from 11am to 11.30am.
Chertsey Spooktacular
From Monday 27 October to Saturday 1 November.
- Mummy Lantern craft available all week. Drop in anytime. Suitable for ages 5+. Cost: 拢1.50p per child. All materials provided.
- Free Spooky Scavenger hunt available all week. Find the spooky pictures hidden in the library and claim your free spooky sticker!
- Spooky colouring: Monday 27 October, available all day
- Pebble Rhymetime: Tuesday 28 October, from 10.30am to 11am.
- Spooky colouring: Wednesday 29 October, all day, free.
- Thursday 30 October. Join us for two fantastic events:
- Jelly Kelly Story Time, from 11am to 11.45am. We are thrilled to welcome back local entertainer Jelly Kelly for a fun-packed and interactive storytime! Free to join in , no need to book!
- Hot Choccy Morning, from 11.45am to 1pm. Come and enjoy a delicious hot chocolate and get creative with our special hot chocolate-themed craft and design your own biscuit colouring! Cost 拢1.50, per child. Suitable for ages 5+.
- Pebble Playtime: Friday 31 October, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Free.
- Pebble Rhymetime: Saturday 1 November, from 11am to 11.30am. Free.

Short rhymes and short stories followed by parental free play.
Storytime
There are currently no stand alone children's Storytime sessions at Chertsey Library. See section Pebble playtime above. Occasionally we hold other sessions which will be listed under Special events.
Storytime for adults
Come and join our Storytime for Adults!
Monthly on a Thursday, from 2.30pm to 3pm. Upcoming dates and themes:
- 13 November. Theme: Remembrance.
- 11 December. Theme: Jane Austen to celebrate the 250th anniversary of her birth in 1775.
One of our library assistants will read a selection of short stories, poems and snippets for you to enjoy and discuss. There is no need to read a book in advance, just turn up on the day and discuss the stories we read aloud, and share your own love of reading! Leave with some ideas for your next read and make new friends.
Everyone welcome!

Chatter and cheer
First Monday in every month from 2pm to 3.30pm.
Drop in for a friendly chat over a cup of tea.
Run in conjunction with Time to Talk and open to anyone.
Chertsey Woolcraft Guild
Every Tuesday from 2.15pm until 4pm.
If you are interested in joining or want to learn about knitting/crocheting or using a spindle, please pop down and they will show you. Everyone is welcome.
Friends of Chertsey library coffee and cake morning
Every Friday from 10am until 12 noon.
No booking required, just turn up to the library to get cake and coffee for 拢1.50
