Literary event
Saturday 18 October, from 2pm to 4.30pm.
Are you a published/aspiring writer or just interested in the written word. Come and share your work with like minded individuals in a relaxed and friendly setting.
A panel of local writers will be hosting this event, David Eve (poet), Martin Hurcombe (writer), Valerie Bowes (writer) and Martin Burl (poet).
Spaces are free and limited so please book early at Caterham Valley Library or email caterhamvalley.library@surreycc.gov.uk to avoid disappointment.
Green Libraries week
Super Socks Party
Wednesday 29 October, from 11am to 12 noon.
Wear your funky socks and join us for stories, songs, colouring and sock puppet craft.
Cost: 拢2 per person. Please book by emailing Caterhamvalley.library@surreycc.gov.uk or by speaking to staff in the library.
Retro Games Week
Available in timed slots from 10am to 4pm:
- Tuesday 28 October at Caterham Hill and Caterham Valley libraries
- Wednesday 29 October at Caterham Valley Library only
- Thursday 30 October at Caterham Hill and Caterham Valley libraries
- Friday 31 October at Caterham Hill and Caterham Valley libraries

In partnership with That Retro Place, our Caterham libraries are hosting an exciting week of retro gaming!
We will have games suitable for ages 7 years up to adult. It is suggested that children have a guardian to supervise as some games may be inappropriate for their age.
These events are free, but booking is required. We have 2 consoles available bookable in 1 hour slots. This can be done at the staff desk in both libraries or by sending an email to the branch at Caterhamhill.library@surreycc.gov.uk or
Caterhamvalley.library@surreycc.gov.uk.
Customers must have a library card to book.
Junk modelling and box fort making
Saturday 1 November, 11am to 12 noon.
No need to book and no fee. Join us and use your imaginations to turn Junk into something great.
Matt Graydon: Author of Leaving Fatherland
Saturday 1 November, from 2pm to 4pm.
Matt writes striking historical fiction with offbeat perspectives inspired by true stories and will be with us to read extracts from his book, answer questions and share his insights into getting published.
Tickets are 拢3 each and will be bookable online. Booking link will follow shortly.

The Barclays community banking van will be parked up at Caterham Valley Library from 9.30am to 1pm on:

Pebble rhymetime and storytime
Pebble rhymetime
Every Tuesday from 10.30am until 11am.
Followed by Stay and Play, from 11am to 12 noon. No booking required.

LEGO club
- Every Friday from 4pm to 4.45pm.
- Every Saturday, from 11am to 12 noon.
Cost: 拢1 per child per session. No need to book, just drop in.
Children's code club
First Saturday in the month, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
Cost: 拢1 per child. No age limit but spaces are limited so please book by emailing caterhamvalley.library@surreycc.gov.uk or visiting the library and speaking to a member of staff.
Sketch Club
Second and fourth Saturday of each month from 2pm until 4pm.
The event is free and inclusive to any level of ability or experience. The event will be focused towards adults, but older children are welcome.
Please bring your own materials.
Digital support volunteer
For help using your computer or laptop you can book a session with our Digital support volunteer.
- Tuesday to Friday: Our volunteer does not have regular hours. Please book in advance at the library or email caterhamvalley.library@surreycc.gov.uk to arrange a date and time.
