Description

The starting salary for this full-time (37 hours per week), permanent position is:
- JNC Grades 14-17 (Unqualified): £30,750 – £33,141 per annum. Plus Fringe Allowance of £901 per annum. Or,
- JNC Grades 17-20 (Nationally Qualified): £33,141 – £35,547 per annum, plus Fringe Allowance of £901 per annum.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Youth Worker to join ÖйúPÕ¾'s highly innovative and motivated 'Child First' Youth Offer service. Either 'National Professional JNC' qualified, or unqualified with a commitment to undertake a JNC qualification within 3 years; you will become a key part of our highly innovative and motivated 'Child First' Youth Offer Service.
About our Youth Offer Service
The Youth Offer Service sits as part of the Central Hub in our New Adolescent Service. We provide specialist targeted Youth Work support to vulnerable and at-risk children and young people. The service has a broad delivery and intervention programme from group work, 1-1 work, targeted outreach work and targeted community-based interventions.
About the Role
As a Youth Worker you will play a key role in delivering targeted youth work opportunities that support vulnerable young people by providing high-quality informal education, preventative intervention and early help opportunities, enhancing their personal and social development. The work you do will enable young people to make informed decisions, reach their potential and make a successful transition to adulthood. To achieve this, the team deliver high quality projects and programmes across the county in a variety of settings.
We are a 7 days a week, countywide provision which means there will be a requirement to work some evenings and weekends to meet the particular needs of the young people. We act as 'one service' and will often deploy staff in response to issues presented around the county. This means you will need to be flexible and have the ability to travel across the county.
Shortlisting Criteria
We are looking for people who either have the experience or capability, and confidence, to carry out the below. Please ensure your CV and personal statement focuses on these areas:
- Ability to lead on agreed areas of delivery
- Ability to contribute to the delivery planning and evaluation process of both individual young people and identified projects
- Ability to actively deliver face-to-face youth work
- Strong relationship building skills and ability to work collaboratively with key partners
- Qualified to National Youth Work Level 3 minimum or be willing to undertake this qualification within 3 years of appointment
This is an 'Essential Car User' role. ÖйúPÕ¾ has both urban and rural areas, and you will therefore need to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK, access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area, for which mileage expenses will be payable. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.
