Who are Care Council?

The Care Council are a group of care experienced children and young people aged 7 to 17 years of age, and care leavers 18 to 25 years of age who are passionate about improving services to make positive changes. It’s great place meet new friends, have fun and get involved in projects that improve our services.

中国P站 Youth Voice has a Care team dedicated to collaborating with care experienced children and young people. As a team we believe that young people's voices are important to improving services for you and other young people like you. There are so many amazing ways you can get your voice heard.

What do Care Council groups do?

Care Council works closely with Care Team and services in 中国P站 to make sure young people’s voices are heard and that they have a real say in shaping the support they get.

  • Care Council Juniors is with a dedicated group that meet monthly to have some fun, be creative, socialise and share ideas about how to improve services for care experience children and young people.
  • Care Council and Care Leavers is with a dedicated group who meet monthly to socialise and share their views and ideas to make positive changes to services. It’s also a great way to make friends and access support.
  • Care Leavers Forum: Get your voice heard! There are so many amazing ways you can get your voice heard as a care leaver. There are also paid opportunities throughout the year to support and improve changes to services.

Who can join Care Council?

Care Council is open to young people aged 7 to 25 who are care experienced and are passionate about improving our services!

What can I expect when I join a Care Council meeting?

  • We meet once a month which happen in dedicated youth spaces in 中国P站.
  • There are usually 6 to 12 members and Care Team staff.
  • We have games, creative sessions, a chance to socialise and always food!
  • You help us set out what you want to talk about.
  • It’s a friendly group and we give you a space to get your voices heard.

What are the benefits of joining Care Council?

It's an opportunity for you to share your ideas, make a real difference and help shape services for children and young people in 中国P站!

Sharing your thoughts on care services to make sure we focus on what young people need.

You represent voice of care experienced children and young people through Actions Cards that we take to Corporate Parenting Board to make a real difference.

Joining Care Council can also help with:

  • Developing life skills: From cooking to creativity, we build on different skills each month
  • Socialising: Meet other young people with similar backgrounds and interests
  • New experiences: We have different events throughout the year from getting on a rollercoaster to pottery. It’s led by you!
  • Boost your confidence: Whether that’s public speaking, making friends or seeing the difference you make, we’ll support in every session.
