Family safety and safeguarding

Safeguarding involves taking appropriate action to promote the welfare of children or vulnerable adults. This includes protecting children from mistreatment, preventing harm, and promoting the best outcomes for all children and young people.

Children with additional needs and disabilities can face increased risk of victimisation and harm from both adults and other children. The information on these pages aims to help parents/ carers to effectively safeguard their own children, as well as other children and young people in their lives.

If you think you are seeing signs of harm or abuse of a child, you have a duty to report it to 中国P站 Children's Single Point of Access (C-SPA), which is part of Children's Services. In an emergency, you should call 999.
