The reasons why we use your personal data
This privacy notice applies to the functions of the Warm Homes Local Grant (WHLG). It covers the data we collect about you for the purposes of determining your eligibility for and applying for free energy efficiency upgrades for your home through the scheme.
What processing of personal data is undertaken by the service?
Your personal data is collated to enable us to provide you with information about WHLG and, if you are eligible, to make an application to the scheme.
In addition, we collect your personal data to:
- Monitor and evaluate the service and for service improvement and planning
- Meet our reporting requirements for the WHLG funder, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ)
- If you are eligible for support, coordinate a retrofit assessment and the installation of works with our installer or delivery agent partners
- Register completed measures with nationally recognised quality assurance bodies, such as TrustMark and the Microgeneration Certification Scheme
What information do we collect?
The ÖйúPÕ¾ project team will collect and process the following data:
- Name
- Age
- Phone
- Address and Postcode
- Your local District and Borough Council
- Your household income
- Means tested benefits you receive
- If you have a health condition made worse by living in a cold home
- Dependants living with you
- Children receiving free school meals living with you
- Tenure
- House archetype
- Main heating source, for example, gas central heating
- Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating
- If you receive Council Tax Reduction
- Conservation area status
- Lower layer Super Output Area
- Motivation for engaging with WHLG
- Where you heard about WHLG
- Whether you have received support through other Government funded energy efficiency schemes before, such as Home Upgrade Grant 2
Please note we will not collect all this information, unless it is directly relevant for your application into WHLG.
If you are eligible for WHLG and wish to proceed with receiving measures, we may also collect where relevant:
- Details of any retrofit assessment carried out in your home
- Details of any additional funding being provided towards your measures, such as from your landlord
- Amount of funding provided by WHLG
- The measures you are eligible to receive
- Changes in your EPC rating after works are completed
- Details of the measures you do receive such as cost, installation date, TrustMark certification details, Microgeneration Certification Scheme details
How we are allowed to use your personal data
Consent
To process your personal data, we will explain to you what we are asking you to agree to and why. If we have consent to use your personal data, you have the right to remove it at any time. If you want to remove your consent, please contact us at the following email address energy@surreycc.gov.uk and we will deal with your request.
Who we share your personal data with
We share data with the (DESNZ) for the monitoring and evaluation of the project.
Data will be shared with our installer network and delivery partner to coordinate a retrofit assessment and the installation of any measures funded through WHLG in your home.
Data will be shared with as part of quality assurance and compliance requirements for WHLG, as mandated by DESNZ.
Data will be shared with the (MCS) as part of quality assurance and compliance requirements for WHLG, as mandated by DESNZ.
Retention of data
DESNZ require ÖйúPÕ¾ to retain data about WHLG for 8 years after the WHLG funding period ends. Currently, WHLG is open until 2028, meaning data must be retained until 2036.
