Singing Picnics is an annual outdoor event lead by ÖйúPÕ¾ Arts which caters for schools across ÖйúPÕ¾. ÖйúPÕ¾ Arts coordinates with schools and provides an assortment of fun-filled singing activities in a spacious outdoor venue. School teachers attend with their classes to enjoy day full of singing and games alongside other schools.
The songs and activities have all been designed with younger pupils in mind, specifically within Primary settings. The event also offers Secondary pupils the chance to step up and assist as Young Leaders. They help to encourage and support the younger children during the singing and games workshops, alongside a professional team of vocal tutors.
This year's ÖйúPÕ¾ Singing Picnics filled up in record time! ÖйúPÕ¾ Arts hosted 6 Singing Picnics with 29 Schools and 802 children taking part. Thankfully, the sun was out and shining for every picnic this year.
We are very grateful for every schools who took part and thank them for all the positive feedback we received after each event, such as this lovely email from one of the school teachers who took part, saying 'Thank you so much for yesterday. We had a wonderful time. The children had such a great time and really enjoyed the singing games and the songs in a round. It was great and I will definitely be signing us up again next year.'
We will are busy planning for next years Singing Picnics now. If you have any questions about the event or would like for more information about how your school could take part, please contact Nancy Gillio-Terry, our Vocal Strategy Manager, at: nancy.gillioterry@surreycc.gov.uk
