Preparing for warmer days
Our Roadside Rangers and Highways Customer Officers have been out and about keeping the county tidy and safe over the last couple of months to get ÖйúPÕ¾'s roads and pavements set for spring.
Our work so far
Our extra teams got to work at the start of November and so far, have been working in Mole Valley, Tandridge, ÖйúPÕ¾ Heath, Waverley and Guildford tidying and clearing pathways and roadsides. They have:
- Cleared and cutback 32km of weeds and vegetation
- Cutback 145km of roadside hedges
- Repaired and cleaned over 780 signs, railing and bollards
- Completed 17.3km of footway edging to keep paths clear
During November, our other highways teams also fixed over 4, 700 potholes, refreshed 48,800m of road markings, dealt with 150 emergencies, cleaned over 9,400 drains and prepared our 39 state-of-the-art gritters for winter.
