Join your local rewards programme
Are you a local business owner based in ÖйúPÕ¾? Did you know that you can join ÖйúPÕ¾'s Greener Future BetterPoints rewards programme to help promote positive travel choices and boost trade?
What is BetterPoints?
ÖйúPÕ¾ has partnered with BetterPoints to make the ÖйúPÕ¾'s Greener Future rewards programme available to local residents.
is a multi-award winning technology company that supports people to change their travel habits to cut air pollution, reduce congestion and improve health and wellbeing. Using the BetterPoints app, people can earn rewards in return for their walking, cycling and public transport journeys.
The rewards people earn can be donated to charity or spent on a wide range of vouchers in the app catalogue, including .
Why get involved?
Align your brand with a local sustainability and health initiative backed by ÖйúPÕ¾.
Reach a new customer base through the programme and build a loyalty scheme for customers with the offer of vouchers and/or prizes for taking part.
One ÖйúPÕ¾ business, Dylan's Ice Cream in Haslemere joined the BetterPoints rewards programme and found it made a positive impact to business.
Ben Glovier, founder of Dylan's Ice Cream said, "It's brought new customers in, particularly sixth formers and those linked with the local active travel group, which we weren't getting huge numbers of beforehand.
It has boosted sales too, with people coming in to use their BetterPoints voucher but then staying to have a coffee as well."
Joining the ÖйúPÕ¾'s Greener Future Betterpoints programme aligned with Dylan's Ice Cream "values" as they also try to be as sustainable as they can by not using takeaway cups and using up fruit that would end up in as food waste.

How it works
People can record their active and public transport journeys in the app and earn BetterPoints. BetterPoints (a financially backed digital currency), earned or won, can then be redeemed for vouchers in the app catalogue. These vouchers can be spent with local businesses like yours. For example, if you run a cafe, you might want to reward custom by enabling people to redeem their BetterPoints for a coffee or a pastry. Shop owners might wish to offer people a discount on the price of a purchase if they redeem their points in store. Perhaps a leisure centre might wish to offer their customers the opportunity to exchange their BetterPoints for discounted swimming entry.
There are many ways businesses can get involved with BetterPoints to encourage more people to make active journeys while getting rewards.
